This week was English Tourism Week and I took a moment to appreciate the incredibly rich history, heritage and natural beauty that surrounds us in South Shields.
I visited South Shields’ Roman Fort, Arbeia, as well as my Great Great Great Grandad William Wouldhave’s lifeboat which commemorates the invention and operation of the first ever lifeboat mission.
I finished up with a walk around stunning Marden Bay to take in the view of the seabirds in the cliffs, the stunning Marsden Rock and the Souter Lighthouse.
