Emma is pleased to announce that she will be hosting her third annual Jobs Fair on Friday 9th October.
The Jobs Fair will bring together employers from across South Shields and the wider Tyne & Wear region, including BT, Port of Tyne, the NHS and more. Employment advice and CV writing stalls will also be on offer to help people get the job that is right for them.
South Tyneside College will be hosting the event on their Westoe Campus. The Jobs Fair will be open between 10.00am – 3.00pm. Readers who are interested in coming along to see the Jobs on offer can find the campus on St George’s Avenue, South Shields, NE34 6ET
The event follows on from the success of previous Jobs Fairs, where constituents walked away with interviews that turned into offers of employment. The Jobs Fair was part of Emma’s pledge to help address unemployment in Shields, which she made to voters when she was elected in 2013.
Announcing the Jobs Fair, Emma said:
“One of my priorities as an MP is to help people in Shields find steady, well-paid work. The Tories’ failure to promote skilled work in towns like ours means that finding work can be tough, so getting all of our area’s major employers together in one place is a fantastic opportunity to link people up with exciting job opportunities.
“Employers have told me what a great way the Jobs Fair is to find talented staff, and I want to thank them for getting involved. I also want to thank South Tyneside College for hosting what promises to be another successful event.”
