Local community Mental Health Family Support Service, Just-ICE (Independent Carers Enterprise) was pleased to announce that Emma is becoming a patron of the service.
Just-ICE is an independent service made up of people who care for their loved ones who are suffering from mental health difficulties. As a result of their lived experiences they have unique insight into this complex and specific caring role. The service provides effective tiered support, information, guidance, signposting and navigation of services to family members because the service understands that for carers to continue in their caring role they also need to be supported.
Just-ICE was founded in 2011 and to date has supported 45 families.
Emma said:
“It takes incredible strength and selflessness to be a carer and to support a friend or loved one, but the stress and isolation of caring means carers themselves often need support. Just-ICE recognises that, they do great work bringing carers in South Tyneside together and providing help and advice. I am honoured to be their patron, and will do everything I can to support their work.”
Just-ICE Chairperson Eric Hill said:
“Welcoming Emma to the service has made our third anniversary even more exciting. Families in the service are now more confident that Just-ICE will be able to grow and more importantly be able to reach any hidden families in South Tyneside who support an adult with mental health issues. We would encourage families to contact us and find out what we can offer”
