Emma visited Northern Doctors Urgent Care over the weekend at their operations centre in Newcastle. Emma met with Chief Executive John Harrison and members of staff to learn more about the work they do providing the North East NHS 111 service and Out Of Hours services to over 934,000 patients in the region.
Emma said:
“I would like to thank NDUC for inviting me to learn more about their work. The staff I met with were extremely knowledgeable and showed real dedication to providing the best service possible to callers.
Among the issues Emma discussed was the lack of Out of Hours services in South Shields on Sunday evenings, something which both she and NDUC are keen to change.
“People don’t get to choose the times when they need medical help, and I want to make my constituents get as comprehensive a service as possible,” Emma added.
