On Friday Emma visited South Tyneside Hospital. Pictured here at the newly refurbished Cardiology Ward, Emma undertook a full tour of the hospital, visiting A&E, the state of the art resuscitation suite, and with the Children’s Day Unit.
Whilst on the visit Emma also was shown the new special care baby unit which is currently under construction and due to open in late August. The facility will have all brand new equipment and will replace the existing unit.
Emma also visited the newly created café in the main lobby which is providing a great service for visitors to the hospital.

“It was fantastic to visit South Tyneside Hospital and see the life-saving and life-changing work that goes on there. The refurbished parts of the hospital are a fantastic asset to our local hospital and I look forward to further visits in the future.”
