Throughout the last month or so I have had the enormous pleasure of visiting a number of brilliant schools in our area and meeting some of the inspiring and thoughtful children who attend them.
Recently, I’ve visited Lord Blyton Primary, Monkton Academy, Ashley Academy, St. Bede’s Primary, Sea View Primary, St. Oswalds RC Primary and Bamburgh School to speak to the children in our area about my job, about how democracy functions and to listen to their thoughts and suggestions for South Shields.
What was abundantly clear is that these schools are home to such wonderfully bright, intelligent and caring young people who are desperate to help maintain our beautiful countryside, defend our environment and improve our area.
I think the future is in good hands.
